Vision and Purpose

We are a church being transformed by the gospel that seeks to be a life-giving spring for the renewal of our city. Our purpose is to make disciples who love and follow Jesus everywhere.

Values

Our values speak to how Harbor lives into its vision and purpose.

Embracing: We are a welcoming church that extends hospitality. Just as God embraces us in Jesus, God calls us to embrace one another and others finding their way back to God.

Empowering: We are a community being transformed by the gospel. This transformation does not happen by our own strength or willpower, but by the strength God gives us in his Spirit as we honestly admit our brokenness and need, both to God and to each other.

Equipping: We are a church that equips our community to minister and flourish in every domain of our lives.

Engaging: We are a church that represents Jesus as we engage our families, communities and neighborhoods with our God-given gifts to advance his kingdom.

Enjoying: We are a church that intentionally lives into our chief end: to glorify God and enjoy him forever. God enables us to experience this joy as we prioritize our relationship with Jesus, his Church, his mission and his love for the world.

Matthew 22:37-39 – Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”

Matthew 28:18-20 – “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Romans 1:16 – The Gospel “is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes”.

2 Corinthians 4:16 – “Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.
