The Session

As a Presbyterian church, Harbor’s spiritual leadership is in its Session, a body comprised of teaching elders (or pastors), and ruling elders.

Todd Lesher

Ruling Elder

Todd has served as an elder at Harbor since 2017 and is excited about Harbor’s mission and what God is doing in our community. Prior to serving as an elder at Harbor Church, Todd served for 12 years as an elder at Perimeter Presbyterian Church in the Atlanta area.

Todd is married to Teresa. Over their 32 years of marriage, they have lived in Boston, Atlanta, San Jose, and San Diego. God has led them to seek opportunities to love and parent many children. They have a special heart for children in need and for adoptive/foster parents.

Todd and his brother grew up in a loving family in the Charleston and Huntington areas of West Virginia. He was active in his church youth groups and came to a saving faith in Christ at a young age.

His father and mother were both the first in their families to go to college and they helped establish in Todd a lifetime love for learning. Todd earned an engineering degree at Purdue University and a masters in business administration from Harvard University. He has spent most of his vocational career leading technology companies.

Todd enjoys sharing life’s adventures and moments with Teresa – whether a travel adventure in some faraway country, a warm conversation between friends over dinner or dealing with one of life’s twists and turns. One of his long-standing goals is to make Teresa laugh at least once each day. He also enjoys being outdoors, exercising and feeding his creative side, dabbling in some oil painting and prose writing.

Jon Ginzel

Ruling Elder

A native of Peoria, Illinois, Jon has lived in Geneva Switzerland, St. Louis and Kansas City. He is now a very happy San Diegan and thankful to have found a church home at Harbor. Jon was installed as an elder at Harbor in 2023. He had previously served as an elder at Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria, Illinois.

Jon graduated with a degree in Business Administration from Bradley University and earned his law degree and MBA from Washington University in St. Louis. Jon has spent most of his career as a corporate attorney specializing in labor relations and compensation. Jon served for 7 years on the board of Peoria Christian School and enjoyed teaching Sunday School for many years.

Jon has been married to his wife, Amy, for 32 years. They have 2 grown children, Emma and Andrew. One of Jon’s favorite ways to relax is to grill a great meal, spend time with family and friends and enjoy a beautiful San Diego evening.

Jon became a Christian at the age of 17. Since that time God has continually shown His grace and faithfulness in Jon’s life. Having personally experienced the transforming work of God in his own life, Jon is excited to be part of a welcoming, biblically-based church that has a mission to share the gospel with our community.
